To assure the success of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games as well as the safety of life and property of visitors from overseas, and to meet the demand of numerous visa applicants during this period, according to the Chinese relevant laws and regulations as well as the practice of countries holding previous Olympic Games and other international big events, the Chinese Consulate has modified and reconfirmed the regulations of visa application as follows: 1. Relevant documents for different types of visa: 1) For Tourist "L" visa: A valid passport; A recent photo; Completed visa application form; Proof of hotel reservation(s) in China; Round-trip air tickets. 2) For Family-visit "L" visa: A valid passport; A recent photo; Completed visa application form; Proof of a relationship with family members living in China; Round-trip air tickets. 3) For Business "F" visa: A valid passport; A recent photo; Completed visa application form; The original official invitation letter from the authorized Chinese government agencies, organizations, or companies; Proof of hotel reservation(s) in China; Round-trip air tickets. 4) For Student "X" visa (studying or interning in China for more than half a year): A valid passport; A recent photo; Completed visa application form; The original Foreign Student Visa Application Form "JW201" or "JW202" issued by the Ministry of Education of China; The original enrollment letter from a school in China or other authorized government agencies. 5) For Employment / work "Z" visa: A valid passport; A recent photo; Completed visa application form; The original official invitation issued by the authorized Chinese government agencies, organizations, or companies; The original Employment License or Certificate of Foreign Expertise. 6) For Foreign correspondents "J-2" visa (temporary interview mission): A valid passport; A recent photo; Completed visa application form; The original written permission from relevant Chinese government agencies. Note: Passport should be valid at least for six months, with at least two available blank pages for visa, and in good condition. Photo should be a recent 2"X 2" formal passport-size / style color photo. 2. Due to the increasing number of applicants, the visa section does not offer the Rush service (except for humanitarian reasons, and relevant proof needs to be provided). The Express service is changed to be 3 working days and the regular service is changed to be 7 working days. 3. To ensure that applicants can easily submit their application, each applicant should obtain a number. This number will be shown one by one above the service window. The numbers are unavailable after 12:30 (lunch time). 4. This notice will come into force on April 15th, 2008. Any changes to the regulations mentioned above will be shown on a further notice. Please prepare all your relevant documents according to this notice in advance. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding of our work.
