1. All documents emanating from A. Document(s) should first be notarized by a notary public or a lawyer; B. Secondly be legalized by the local provincial authorities( please refer to the address below ); C. Finally be authenticated by the Chinese Consulate-General. Note: Documents originating from areas other than 2. Fees for document authentication and notarization: A. $30 per document for documents such as Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Working Experience and Professional Title, Kinship, Declaration and Affidavit of Financial Support, Marital Status, Marriage & Divorce Certificate, Personal Identification, etc. and documents concerning Adoption or Student's Admission. B. $60 per document for documents concerning Right of Inheritance, Power of Attorney, Wills and Housing Transfer Declaration, Estates and Properties, Trade Mark Registration. 3. All fees should be paid in Canadian Currency by debit card, company cheque or Money Order made payable to the Chinese Consulate General. The Consulate does not accept cash, credit card or personal cheque.
4. Processing of the document authentication and notarization takes four working days. For special cases, rush service is provided. An extra $35 is charged for the rush service within 48 hours. All the requirements listed above are subject to change without notice at the discretion and interpretation of the Consulate.
