The Chinese Consul General LIU Fei Attends the opening ceremony of renowned Canadian Chinese painter Tianyin Chan's 55 years Retrospective Exhibition's Preview

January 7, the Chinese Consul General LIU Fei attends the opening ceremony of renowned Canadian Chinese painter Tianyin Chan's 55 years Retrospective Exhibition's Preview in International Arts Gallery in Vancouver, Canada. MP Don Davis, MLA Richard Lee, City Councilor Elizabeth Ball, directors and officers from The Federation of Canadian Artists, community leaders as well as famous artists, over 100 persons attend the ceremony. Vice Consul LU Wan-ting accompanies.

Consul General LIU Fei points out that Mr. Tianyin Chan was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2011. It is the first Asian Canadian that receives this honour. His painting is a good example of the harmonization of western and oriental culture and painting skills. Consul General LIU highly appreciates International Arts Gallery's contribution to promoting Chinese culture in Canada.

 

MP Don Davis acclaims that the colourful explosion in Tianyin Chan's paintings lights him up. His painting bears unique arts charisma.

 

In the painter's speech, Mr. Chan looks back into his past 55 artistic years. And claims his 55 years Retrospective Exhibition will be formally held in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts on March 2012.

 

Tianyin Chan grew up in Guangzhou. He was trained in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and Paris L'Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in the 1960s.
