Consul General Liu Fei attended the Opening Ceremony of the 5th Vancouver Chinese Film Festival

On July 15th, H.E. LIU Fei, Consul General of the People"s Republic of China in Vancouver, attended the Opening of Ceremony of the 5th Vancouver Chinese Film Festival. MLA David Eby, MLA George Chow, MLA Shame Simpson, MLA Janet Routledge and hundreds of guests were present at the ceremony.

Consul General LIU Fei extended her congratulations to the organizers and said that the festival provided an opportunity for people to know more about the culture, history and daily life of China. She highly appreciated "Looking China" program and wished it further promote the exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Canadian young filmmakers.

"Looking China" program started in 2015, 5-10 Canadian young directors based in Vancouver were chosen every year to travel in China for 3 weeks to shoot 10-minute documentary short film about Chinese tradition and culture. The festival would last 7 days and about 20 Chinese films would be shown. A Youth Film Forum would be held during the festival.
