H. E. Consul General LIU Fei Bid Farewell to Premier Christy Clark

On June 28, H.E. LIU Fei, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Vancouver bid farewell to Hon. Christy Clark, Premier of the Province of British Columbia. Hon. Teresa Wat, BC Minister of International Trade joined the meeting.

Consul General LIU Fei thanked Premier Christy Clark for attaching great importance to China-Canada relationship and kind support for her work and that of the Chinese Consulate General. A dialogue mechanism between the Chinse Consulate General and BC province was set up and has been operating effectively in trade, education, and culture etc. Guangdong Province and BC signed an MOU to interact Belt and Road initiative with Asia Pacific Gateway Strategy. The bilateral trade, education, science and technology and culture cooperation have achieved great outcomes.

Premier Christy Clark expressed appreciation for Consul General LIU Fei’s outstanding contribution to promote China-Canada relationship and will continue promoting the sister province relationship between BC and Guangdong. She recalled the 2015 China trip with fond memory, deeply impressed by the great achievements of China’s reform and opening up and the modernization, and will encourage people in BC to participate in Belt and Road initiative and deepen mutual beneficial cooperation.

Deputy Consul General TIAN Ni and Consul ZHANG Xiaolei of the Chinese Consulate were present.
