Consul General LIU Fei Attends Screening of "All Our Father's Relations"

On March 14, H.E. LIU Fei, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Vancouver attended the special community screening of the documentary "All Our Father's Relations" held at the Masqueam Community Center.

Through the story of the marriage between the daughter from Grant family of Masqueam and a Chinese immigrant in the 1920s, their descendants' journey back to their father's hometown in Guangdong, China in 2013, "All Our Father's Relations" depicts the interconnected history of how the early Chinese immigrants and First Nations people supported one another in their struggle for survival against the marginalization and racism of the discriminatory government legislation.

In her remarks before the screening, Consul General LIU highly recognized the long-time friendship between the Chinese immigrants and the First Nations.

Hon. Jody Wilson-Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Adam Palmer, Chief of Vancouver Police,Grand Chief Edward John, members of the Grant family, elders of the Masqueam, were also present.
